Learn how to make stop-motion animation in our eight-week course! You’ll work with other young people and professional tutors to come up with an idea for a film and then bring it to life. The film will be shown as part of a series of short films produced by young people in the Roundhouse Studios. You can watch previous films produced here.

What do I get by taking part?

Learn stop motion animation techniques, special effects and green screen filming
Record sound effects and voice over
Develop storytelling skills. Learn how to tell stories, create characters and design scenes
Work as part of a film crew
Have fun and make friends!

Who is teaching the project?

Rainbow Collective who have won numerous awards for the animation training they provide to young people.

Do I need any particular skills or experience to take part?

This course is for 11-14-year-olds who have an interest in filmmaking and storytelling, and there is no need to have had any prior experience in film or animation in order to join.

If you need help to pay for things like project fees, transport or childcare, we can help. Find out how you can get support. If you are using a bursary to pay for the project, please ensure you arrange this with the Advice Base with plenty of time before the start of the project.
