On May 8, London’s iconic Roundhouse will host the UK premiere of Louis Cole’s groundbreaking album nothing, which will be performed live with an orchestra conducted by the renowned Jules Buckley. Released on August 9, 2024, nothing quickly ascended to the top of Billboard’s Alternative Jazz charts and garnered widespread acclaim for pushing the boundaries of contemporary-classical, funk, and jazz. Originally recorded with the Grammy-winning Metropole Orkest, the album features compositions entirely by Cole, with each track accompanied by visually striking music videos showcasing his close collaborators, including Genevieve Artadi, Rai Thistlethwayte, and Sam Wilkes, among others. The performance, which promises a multi-sensory experience, will feature a full orchestra, all dressed in skeleton suits, adding an extra layer of surrealism to the evening.

Louis Cole is celebrated for his genre-defying approach to music and his charismatic stage presence, which blends electro-funk with deep, cinematic ballads and infectious hooks. Known as one of the leading figures in the new wave of jazz, funk, and electronica, Cole’s work constantly evolves as he explores a vast musical universe, never confined to one sound or scene. A Grammy-winning producer and multi-instrumentalist, Cole is best known as a co-founder of the band KNOWER and for his viral solo videos, such as “Bank Account” and “Let It Happen”. His live shows are legendary, and this one-night-only performance at the Roundhouse promises to be no exception—an unmissable, boundary-pushing event filled with energy, innovation, and unforgettable music.
