Discover how to transform your ideas into captivating film scripts in our Storytelling in Film Workshop. We’ll cover every step of the storytelling process, from developing initial concepts to formatting your script to industry standards. Learn essential screenwriting skills, create memorable characters, and structure your screenplay with confidence.

What you get

Key skills in how to develop a compelling story and how to put it into proper script format of an industry standard.
On completion of the workshop, you will have an insight into the life of a scriptwriter and through a brief Q&A session, you will also have an opportunity to ask questions with regard to the filmmaking process.

Meet the tutor

Teniola Zara King is a Nigerian-British Writer/Director and is an alumna of The London Film School. Her latest short film, Teju’s Tale was produced by DBK Studios and Sky Studios and has screened in festivals globally. Teniola shadow directed on Sky Original “The Midwich Cuckoos” and is currently developing two TV Pilots. https://www.teniola.co.uk/

What we’ll cover

  • Story ideas and where to get them from
  • Genres – Different Genres in Film
  • Logline – ways to create a logline – task
  • Character – types of characters, creating wholesome characters, no one is completely good or bad. They must always have a why.
  • Examples of well-known characters and why they are unique.
  • How to ensure the character informs the story.
  • Five Act Story structure – a formula that breaks a story into distinct sections: the exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution
  • Breaking down each act and what it means.
  • Script format: How to write in script format
  • Screenwriting Software: To be taken seriously don’t use Word. Final draft, Studio binder, Celtx, Fade In.

No! Open to anyone aged 18-25 with a love for storytelling.
