What is the Roundhouse Jam?

About Roundhouse Jam

The Roundhouse Jam takes the iconic Roundhouse venue out into schools, offering a high-quality interactive sound and video experience for young people.

Benefits

  • Gives young people space to play and be curious.
  • Supports non-verbal communication, an inclusive form of play for young people with additional needs.
  • Brings the Roundhouse experience to young people who may not be able to visit us onsite.

Originally designed for pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities, but suitable for all young people, it’s a gentle and playful slice of rave culture for everyone to enjoy.

The project has impacted on my pedagogical approach to PMLD [profound and multiple disability] lesson planning. The beauty to allowing the students the freedom to properly explore and communicate their preferences has increased lesson engagement and purposeful interactions with students within the group.
