Credit can be used for all sorts of things, such as:

  • Roundhouse youth programme workshops, events and courses
  • Materials required for a Roundhouse youth programme
  • Creative Studio Membership (CSM)
  • Hiring studio facilities once you have a Creative Studio Membership
  • Transport expenses within London (for travel to and from the Roundhouse only)
  • Childcare
  • 1:1 support worker, carer or interpreter

Please note: Because we receive lots of applications for credit and the Roundhouse has limited money available, we ask that you only apply for credit if you genuinely need it – this helps us to keep the scheme fair for everyone.

How our credit process works

How to apply for credit The first step is a conversation with a youth worker

To apply for credit, email advicebase@roundhouse.org.uk to request a conversation with a youth worker. You may also speak to one of the youth work team at the front desk who may be able to assist you.

The chat is an informal discussion and we do not ask young people to provide any evidence of their financial situation. The youth worker will talk through the financial support we can offer as well how credit can be used.

What can you use credit for? Book studio spaces, enrol onto projects and travel
  • Credit can be used to book studio spaces and also to enrol onto projects but it is unable to be used towards costs for the EMI recording studio.
  • Travel credit is reimbursed in cash and will only be refunded after you provide evidence of your journey (TFL/travel receipt showing journey to/from Roundhouse).
  • You can only claim for travel one week in arrears meaning that you can claim for travel journeys one week in the past.
  • Credit does not automatically “top up” – in order to top up your credit, you will need to email the advice base email (stated above) and arrange another conversation with a youth worker.
  • You can only apply for credit once a month – if you use all of your studio/travel within a month, then you will be unable to receive more financial assistance until a month has passed since your last credit conversation.
  • You can have a maximum of £40 on your studio credit and £40 on your travel credit – if you have remaining credit on your account, you will only receive funds to top it back up to £40.
What happens when you have credit? Credit will be added to your account

If it is agreed that you will receive credit, this will be added to your account and staff will be aware of the money you have on your account. You are always free to check in with staff at the front desk to see how much credit you have remaining. Currently, this information is not available to see via their online Roundhouse account. However, you will still be able to log into your account to see available rooms.

How do you book using credit? Email studios.bookings@roundhouse.org.uk

To use credit to book studio rooms/projects, email studios.bookings@roundhouse.org.uk with the room/project you would like to book.

  • For studio rooms, please look online to check availability and let us know what date and time you would like to book. For example “Can I please book Rehearsal Room 5 from 2-4pm on Monday 9th October”. Please be aware that our shared inbox is only monitored during studio opening hours so the room you requested may not always be available on response. Where available, the youth work team will give an alternative suggestion.

For cancellations, we have a 48 hour cancellation policy meaning that if you inform us of a cancellation 48 hours (2 days) before your booking, you will receive the money back on your account. However, if it is within 48 hours or you fail to attend your session without letting us know, then the money will be taken from your credit and you will not receive this back.
